This handsome juvi was imaged several years ago, but never processed. It was the end of August, so he was as big as his parents, and also had begun flying.
I am generally not a huge fan of plain blue water backgrounds, but I found this one effective.
Taken from my little boat, "Loonie Too".
D4 600VR f/5 1/800s ISO 1250 SB900 with beamer for fill flash. Mounted on a pedestal in bottom of the boat.
Post: Leveled, slight crop for comp, cleaned up the flash catchlight, selective sharpening.
Hi Randy, good call on the better beamer, worked a treat, great colour palette and I do like the slight head turn too. The hint of water droplets on the back plumage is a nice touch. Agree with Karl, the low angle and sharpness is great, what are you using a WW2 LCA . There are some terrific images being posted at present, with really cool low POV's, well done Randy.
Hi Randy, lovely low perspective, and great use of your flash - its subtle, and also well exposed. The juvie is tack sharp, and nothing wrong with your water BG -I do like the pastel blues.
