Default Black Guillemots - A bit 'arty'

Our little 1953 ice breaker is quite a cool vessel IMHO, however getting out in the zodiac just provided so much scope for other opportunities and thinking. In this particular area we just killed the motor and let ourselves drift around where Black Guillemots were swimming and we were presented with this lovely ice berg a gorgeous backdrop, swamping all below it. Not so worried about detail here, I just like the overall atmosphere and etherial POV.

Hi Steve, what a lovely setting, and I can almost feel you drifting silently across the water. I really like the lines in the glacier, together with the colour reflected from the water.

I hope you print this big, and hang it on a wall. A fine image Squire.

I thought O.R. Tambo in 'arrivals'?

    Thanks a million Stu.

Thats a cracker Steve. You can 'feel' the movement. Beautiful colours throughout. Very nice indeed. It would look great hanging in my bathroom on the white tiles

Steve certainly agree with the above comments, cracking bit of natural history photography.

Bathroom, kitchen, hallway...it would look good anywhere! Fantastic image Steve, very appealing colours. One of the better "small in the frame" images I've seen in a long time. You can even crop to above your signature as an option, but boy this is very strong as is.

Cheers Dan, had though about that, but liked the 'larger' option. It was nice to shoot with a smaller lens, makes you think!

This is an EXCEPTIONAL, contest-worthy all day long photo, Steve! I do agree with just a tad off of the bottom as Daniel suggests.

It caught my eye straight off the thumbnail Steve.. Absolutely Wonderful..! You got a dust spot upper LH third. I would have a look at B&W also, only because its the mood I have been in lately..

    Thanks folks, much appreciated.

Don can you drop me a line where you see it. Just looked at it within LR 'visualise dust spots' and can't see anything, they normally pop up as little donuts .

Agree with the above said opinions...super nice image with a special mood and many interesting features. Something to look at for a long time and something for sure to have in a print. Very well done!

Hi Steve - I too love it. You can feel the cold and the silence of the place, except for the cracking of the glacier. Beautiful blues and nice small in frame image. Well done.

    Good evening Steve,

This is so different from what I have seen from you, a new visual impression creating an experience, an abundance of space, a new contemplation. It took me a while to "absorb" this frame, and even a longer period of attention to the minutest details of this massive iceberg, the blue waters and the Guillemots with their calm drift about.

Crisp, blue, healthy air... I am so jealous of your recent journey and sightings:)

Warmest regards from hot, waterless Africa...
    Gabriela Plesea
