    Default Young Martins

Every evening the young Marins from the nearby colony would come to a pool(quite a big one) to bathe and drink. I placed the phragmites reed stems in for them to perch on. The biggest problem was not bird movement but the reed going up and down when they landed .

    Slight crop. Neat image.

A really cute shot and a very good idea for a set up. The birds could, I think, stand a little more sharpening - possibly you were right on the limit at 1/80 sec.
I see evidence of cloning bottom left and top right going to centre top. The background has a strange amorphous texture - was this a blur filter or heavy noise reduction?

Such a cute trio, John and you have captured them so nicely...they look like toys.
Good to see all three had nice eye contacts. Great show. Love it.

    Satish.

    Thanks both

yes the 80th sec was pushing it abit but was half way through changing settings and only got the one chance at the three. The BG is evening sunlight on willow herb and evening primrose growing on red sandstone. Not sure what amorphous means ! Don't recall any cloning but may have moved logo around. Could be where I removed the wayward birds in the back as I mentioned in the details above.
The far bank behind the birds was a fair way back so I wouldn't expect much detail with that lens on about 500mm.
    Thanks Satish

    Waaay to cute!

Really shows off the 3 little characters beautifully. You did well to get all 3 as sharp as you did with 1/80th, well done.

Getting really picky now, but sharpening wise I'd be going about halfway between the 2 versions.

    Lovely work

I,m always a bit wary about shapening afterwards for that reason. I think you,re right.

Hi John, great triple, with not one looking in the same direction. I agree with the sharpening in between, and feel you could maybe desaturate the BG colours a touch.

These guys are absolutely adorable, as well as inquisitive, and the colors are so vibrant. Lovely image!
