The colors, the shapes, and the fairly tight crop are appealing and combine to give a nice amount of energy and a good look to the image. With the dark background, though, the luminance contrast makes it a bit intense for me. I tried just lightening the dark areas but the approach I used affected other parts of the image, too.
What's your impression, so far, of Smart Photo Editor?
Dennis, once I posted this I thought maybe the blacks were too dark. I like what you did, but maybe less so on the whites of the magnolia. Parts of Smart Photo Editor are interesting. When I look through it critically mostly I think I could do better from scratch. But it does give me ideas. And some of the possibilities, like varying the sizes of multiple elements within the image, are interesting and more work than I would set up. Also good for trying a pre-made effect to see if I like the idea at all. Somewhat of a boxed cake mix approach vs. one made from scratch.
Beautiful flowers and nice processing Nancy. It might be interesting to apply a texture without color or cream color to the flowers as they look very smooth compared to the background.
The color palette and soft gentle feel of the image works. I agree with the comments concerning the dark areas. Is the textured border from Smart Photo Editor?
