Nice soft light and head-on shot, Andreas. I do wish he'd lifted his head slightly but know that when these guys get chowing they keep chowing eh?
I'm fine with the centred horizontal presentation, but obviously it would work as a portrait crop too...
Does the rhino have a very very slight green cast?

Thanks Morkel i am with you regarding the lifted head , i asked kindly but she did not want to listen to the german tourist
, i do have her with lifted head but the overall images have been not ideal from other POVīs so i thought i take the clear shot with the compromised head down syndrome , LOL !
Just rechecked the colors and as i wanted the colors are a bit cooler for reflecting the time of shooting , but there is actually no very very slight green cast .
Both in LAB and RGB the greens are lower in number than the blues so should be alright for a cooler look , i could balance it for sure a bit more to the magenta side but i am ok for the moment as it is , anyhow thanks for the pointer .
Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas -- I think being a big subject the centered framing works fine as it fills the frame to a great extent , unlike Loi's image http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ighlight=tapir where the subject is comparatively small and the frame looks empty because of it .
I too see a slight greenish cast , lets see what others have to say !

Hi Andreas - Nice low pov and walking pose. The centered comp isn't my favorite but it works ok here. I probably would have gone vertical here. On the color issue, my thought upon viewing was that the scratches on the rhino looked like they had a bit too much cyan coming through.

I am good with the crop, with the rhino centered from side to side. The rhino is approaching head on and appears nearly symmetrical, and those bulging sides capture your eye in a way they would not in a side view. Also the bkgd on both sides is very much the same, so this adds to the appealing symmetry. Good that there is more foreground showing than space above the rhino so it does not look like a centered bull-eye. I do like that tiny bit of light catching the tufts of hair on the one ear!

Hello Andreas,
Sorry to come in so late:)
I like this rhino image as is in terms of framing. Well exposed and nice POV, the slightly raised limb adds interest.
I agree with Nancy above - she has already mentioned those elements most pleasing in the frame.
Did you get any profile shots of this rhino?
Boetie, I guess I might not sound as enthusiastic as you'd expect
Although this is a well processed image, I do not find it as exciting - in terms of content - as your recent posts.
Looking forward to some more from your SA folders,
Warmest regards,

Thank you ladies for your kind comments , much appreciated .
Gabriela - to be honest i never expect something special regarding comments
i just take them as they come , if they are positive , negative , medium or even enthusiastic ..... for sure the positive ones are the better ones , that is just human i think. But i also try to learn from the negative ones and try to implement them in my WF from shooting to processing .
I also think this image would not make me drive crazy ..... if this was not mine , LOL !
Anyhow thank you for taking your time to view and comment .
Cheers yours Buthi
