This is the 1876 Madison County courthouse occupying the town square of Winterset, Iowa. The building is beautifully maintained. PP included Nik CEP2,, Nik Analog and a CEP4 frame.
The perspective gives some nice angles, and there are good foreground and midground elements to further the sense of depth. I like the contrast of the rotunda with the sky, and the clouds add interest without being distracting. (At first, I thought they were wrinkles in the paper as part of the vintage look, so they held my attention.) Your processing produced a very nice vintage look.
Did you use two versions of Color Efex because the earlier one has a capability the later one doesn't?
Perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. There is a lot going on in the image, but it all works well. I love the way you framed the tower and cupola, making that the first thing I looked at when I opened the image. Everything lines up beautifully. Just the right amount of textures. Nice range from light to dark. How did you make the sky seem to radiate from the cupola? Great work.
Dennis, Judy and Anita thanks for the look and comments. Anita, the clouds were barely visible in the original image. The post processing accentuated the clouds and the radiating effect was pure serendipity. Dennis, I did not use two versions of CEP. The CEP2 should have read SEP2. Excuse the poor proofing.
