    No idea of secies Jon but certanly unusual. Reckon you'd have been better offat 16 at least- lacking a bit on the thorax.

    Unusual it is! Don't know if it's in mid-step but it conveys an interesting action to me.

    I'd have a look at reducing the brighter areas a little, as the bottom of the stem pulls my eye out of the frame.

    Interesting pose, plus nice comp and background! With all the robust spines on the back and abdomen, I wonder if this is one of the Tachinid flies (Family Tachinidae)?
