I like your treatment of the photo. Clearer. My thought at the time of doing this was to try to make vintage, old faded postcard look. Maybe I faded it too much.

Both presentations are lovely, and vintage-looking. Hazel, thanks for starting us on the new theme! A covered bridge is a perfect subject, as well as the toning you used. I lean towards Anita's version since one can see more details in the dark areas near the far end of the bridge. Love your comment about what parts are still original?

Maybe keep the fading but allow a bit more brightness inside the bridge

Lovely subject and the simplify and fading works very well. I love the view out the other end.
I think Anita improved it a lot with the added detail in highlights and shadows. Doing that in the original raw conversion gives you even more detail to work with.

I like your final version. Works well.

I like this a lot, Hazel. Both the subject, and your processing, are perfect for the vintage look you created. The additional detail that you (and Anita) brought out in your RP also adds to the vintage look, in that the supports of the bridge now look a little rusty to me, adding to the effect.

I like the combination of the fade and the greater detail in the shadows. Slightly blurring and lightening the darker tones in the background at the other end of the bridge would give a greater feel of depth and make that area compete less for attention.

Yes, I agree with Dennis. I'd meant to mention this but forgot.

I think your repost is spot on! A good example of a vintage look for a vintage bridge!

Your final version is excellent. By lightening the interior you have exposed the wonderful architecture of the bridge.
