A few weeks ago I posted the up-wing frame from this sequence, taken in Cape May last month. This down-wing pose is a few frames later. I failed to pan fast enough, so the bird ended up at the far right side of the frame. So I borrowed some of the left side of the frame, and pasted it in front of him. The background reeds dovetailed surprisingly well, I thought. One thing I found interesting when comparing the two poses, was how much he arches his back when putting power into the downstroke.

The thing I like best about this is how well the bird stands out against the BG,don't think I would have noticed the added canvas if you had not mentioned it, very good shot Bill.
