    Jon:

Nice eye contact, well exposed, the angled wing position gives it more 'action'. Soft background with harmonious colors.

I think this pose could work well as a vertical as well, which would emphasize the angles of the wings.

    Cheers

    Hi Jonathan,

Very appealing pose of the bird flying. Good background too :)

The wing seems close to the top edge of the frame.

I wonder about IQ and how much of a crop this was?

    Ross

Ross it was a small crop, in fact it was more of a reposition than a crop, the original file had the bird way to the left.

    Thanks Jonathan.

Perhaps NR to background and/or a subtle more sharpening on the bird will make it pop more? Don't get me wrong, the bird does stand out ok from the background, I am thinking a little more could be possible and would be very nice :)

I noticed when looking carefully a faint vertical line in the sky, about half way between the bottom wing tip and the left edge. Cloning that out may help.

    Cheers,
    Ross

Beautiful bird, nicely shown. I like how the color palette, how the background colors compliment the bird. Thank you for sharing, Jonathan.

Hi Jon, all looking good, love the soft colours of the BKG, works well with the coloration of the SEO.

Personally I still think you could increase that SS, but agree on a hint more above, nice work.

Thanks very much everyone, when I go next time hopefully we will have some better light and then I will increase the shutter speed. I still have a few images left however so I hope I won't bore you too much!

I really love this bird and location. A little more on top for me, but I love it as is.

Good shot of a beautifull owl. Nice wings angle too.
