The lighting conditions have been pretty poor over here for a few weeks now, so really limited, but I liked the light on this one.

    Thanks for looking

I also like the light on this one. I also personally like these kind of backgrounds. Perch is nice, sharpness is good as well. I just wish for a few degrees of head angle toward us.

Nice pose, lovely detail and it certainly pops from the background. I always find it difficult to retain detail in the whites on these birds and you have done it well here.

A cute bird with a nice perky pose. Exposure is good and I like how the dark background allows the bird to stand out. When I compose a picture, I always try (sometimes more successfully than others:) ) to figure out what part of the frame is enhancing my subject and what is not. In this case, when I do a browser scroll and eliminate a good chunk of the perch and the bright orange spot, I find the emphasis to be more on the bird. What do you think?

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Hi Grace, I did try that version and also liked it a lot. I suppose its 'taste'. And, yes, if the bird is tack sharp, then it is worth the crop

I really like the light, and the lovely bird against the dark background. The repost makes all the difference.

I think that the repost is stronger. Thanks for considering my suggestion.
