I captured this image as the BTGD took off from the short ground cover in June of 2012 trip to Iceland. It was a little after 9:00 PM. C&C welcome.

    D3s, Nikon 500mm, 1/800s, f 8, ISO 2500, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

Pretty cool Geoffrey. I love the FG and BG blending with the light conditions you had. I like the flight pose and colours on the bird. Was it a high ISO?

    Thanks for sharing

I really like the feeling of this one. Great environmental shot, with the Godwit in a perfect flight pose. The layers of background color, and the yellow flowers, really add to the image.

Thanks William. Forgot to type in the ISO 2500.

Love the wide angle feel of this environmental shot, and it really tells a great story. The calling pose is a huge plus.

I like what you went for here, nicely seen. I realize is small in the frame on a small web version, but I think that as posted the subject could stand a bit more sharpening. This view gives us a nice idea of the habitat :-)
