    The santa ana winds brought clear morning light to our local beach preserve. The fish were plentiful making great action up close. D4 200-400mm at 370mm, Iso 640, F5.6, 1/4000 sec. Thanks for looking. Had to add canvas on all sides to give some space around the bird.

    Fabulous flight pose. Great color and detail. For me, it could use a bit of room in front, although I'm not sure how I'd do that while avoiding a square format.

    Thanks Bill, I had a hard time trying to figure out how to crop this, not a fan of square either but it might be the right choice.

    This is a terrific shot of a fairly common bird and you've managed to show us something different. Love the vibrancy of the colors and the feeling of movement. I might try a bit more on top and left.
