    Christmas cactus is what I call it when I don't have Wikipedia at hand. Started blooming like crazy as the weather cooled.
    A stack of about 125 images, composited in Zerene.
    D800E 200mm 1/250 f6.3 iso 100
    Tripod, tethering software Helicon remote to automagically take the 125 images through focus. Remote flashes in front to left and behind.

    Just done one I bought the wife last week.!! I didn,ttry a white BG though-looks good on it .

    Looks like an excellent botanical illustration! What would you think about a squeak more canvas left and bottom? (But maybe I'm claustrophobic...)

    125... what's your personal best?? I'm in awe, and really need to get serious about trying this level of precision.

    Thanks, Diane. I agree on the extra space, and have a version as you suggest.
    I have stacked 250 frames, of a 1:1 true macro. I did that one in two batches of 125 because I was concerned about a lack of room on the disk crashing the stacking software. The two stacks were then merged in Zerene.
