    Took this last week - not sure it works though, trying to get that Studio look . A work in progress maybe.

    SIGMA 500MM f4.5 @ 500mm
    f4.5
    1/60TH
    -0.3EV
    400ISO

    Cropped a little, made some adjustments to shadow recovery in NX2 - sharpened a little.

    Studio look is right Lance !!! Seems like I would like seeing a little more bird? Haven't check the whites (not over) would try keeping the hottest at around 242 or so. When you get to around 250 they will appear blown when they are not.

    Good profile, very sharp and good shadow detail !!

    did you manipulate the bg here? bird does look a little bright on my screen. love the profile. i was thinking that a really dark green bg would look a little better to give you some seperation between it and the dark head of the bird.

    how do you like NX2? looks interesting and it has a tool that would be cool!!! Retouch Brush looks like a great addition!!

    Hi Harold - no manipulation on the background, I was purposley after a dark BG and followed the bird around until I had the background I was after.

    NX2 looks good has some intresting new features - you can download a trial from the nikon us web site - just got jason o'dell's NX2 guide to help get me up to speed.

    Great capture and composition, I like this alot buddy...:D The black studeo background makes your bird pop...:)... I caution you on the little hot spots on the body...congrats...keep them coming...:)
