You'll see that I like to give my birds room to breathe but is this just too much?

Taken at Oare Marshes, Kent with a 40D and a Canon 400mm DO + 1.4TC. Cropped to take the bird away from the centre.

    Evaluative metering - 1/3 stop. F 8, 1/500 sec, ISO 400. Aperture priority.

    Thanks for looking.

Hi Sean - love the BG - good head angle - nice background.

Looks a little under exposed to me. I would maybe crop out the diagonal post lower left corner.

Hi Sean I like it a lot Excellent feel to this image !! Agree on going a little lighter (bird) Crop wise would go a little tighter still leaving plenty of room Don't see much need to include the entire bottom. Just the heavy log would be fine. Love that bg!!!

    Hi Sean,
I like the composition and the good head angle. I took the liberty in cropping it for you, see if this works for you...:D

    Hi Sean,
I really love your image - think that the new crop works better even though I am a big fan of having the bird staring into the distance. British birds rock!!!
