    Here's one I had forgotten about, right after the gull took off from the frozen lake, shortly before sunset one evening last March. Slight crop for comp. I do wish he had turned the fish around.

    D7200, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 800, 1/2500s @ f/6.3 manual.

    Hi Bill,

    Looks like a good catch for the gull! Very clear detail on the eye and bill. I love the wing position, placement in the frame, and action of flying with a catch.

    The darker diagonal band in the background under the bird could be considered to lighten or clone out.

    Good call, Ross. I hadn't really noticed that band, but it is a bit distracting, once noticed. Here's a repost.

    Nicely done on the RP Bill. Happens to me too ... some distraction that other people see that escaped me. Now that background is really nice :)

    Excellent timing, Bill. Like the wings and tail position. Very nice light and of course the added bonus with fish.
