    Back lit Egret.
A bird I have been waiting to photograph in this country for many, many years. Finally got it at one of my rare outings this year ,to a local scrape. More to follow.

    Neat Image.
People didn't reckon much to the pigeon pic- don't know why?

Great capture John. I like the comp and I am glad that it is backlit, as the light looks real strong on the back. We had 4 up here last year

Yes, I could have toned it down a bit but it would loose the feel of the back lit situation. That,s what it looked like so fair enough .
    Thanks for looking

Hi John, I never meant to tone it down a bit, what I meant was that if you had captured it with the sun behind you, the whites would have been real bright

Great find and a nice image, John. I love Egrets and have a chance to see them in the fall migration season at some local ponds every year.

Excellent backlit image. Very nice pose with raised foot. Beautiful composition.

Nice shot John, for me a tad oversharpened and maybe lower the highlights on the right shoulder other wise very nice. I have between 50 and 80 depending upon which day, roosting about 600yd from my back garden but they are very skittish.
