    Autumn has arrived, and so have the Kinglets. This one found a Goldenrod plant to dine on the dried seeds. Captured this image at a local preserve the other day in late afternoon. C&C welcome.

    D4s, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 TC, 1/800s, f 6.3, ISO 1000, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    Great colours and an interesting pose from this little beauty. Unfortunately for me, the foliage that covers the breast really pulls my eye, a real shame.

    I know how hard it is to get the depth of field to cover small birds but I'd maybe consider pushing the ISO further in the future and using a smaller aperture.

    I'd be going right back to that setting as it looks like it has excellent potential

    Excellent image in habitat. Very nice look back and inquisitive pose. Beautiful composition.

    Nice looking bird in fall setting.
    Personally I would try a vertical crop as well just for the sake of experimenting.
