After a couple of days of photographing these wonderful little jewels it was fun to try for some very tight shots as they were very tolerant of my presence as long as I didn't make any sudden movements.
Let me know what you think.

I like the composition, pose and BG and would only remove one of the catchlights. Could also go to "Out of the box" since the bird does not seem to be captive.

    Great composition Tom.
I like the up close and in your face deal... The feathers are razor sharp and the colors are rich and vibrant...I like it very much...:D

I have to study this one more. I think I might go for more of the front wing down some to make the whole visible. It is different and sharp. Good thinking.

What, couldn't you get any closer? ;)

But seriously, really unique hummer shot. I agree with Axel about removing one of the catchlights (I'd get rid of the one on the right and maybe move the other one up a bit). ... well seen. Got any more in this series?

    Thanks for all your comments.
    Leroy,
Yes, I do have more close ups. I'll be posting. Probably at "out of the box" as Axel suggests.

Wonderful closeup with detail. I love that sense of mystery. Well done.
