Whilst photographing Herons the other weekend, I managed to come away with some Egrets shots too. You just have to get them against the dark trees in the distant BG to make them pop.

Thanks Steve. I have already burned the bill in pp. Their bills are actually quite light.

I like the details, IQ, exposure and dark BG. A little more of a head turn towards us would have made this even better. Excellent image Stu!

    Hi Stu,

Excellent choice for the background. Whites are very nicely exposed to. I really like the placement of the bird in the frame.

I agree with Jim regarding HA. It seems like the bird is just passing you by here. Getting a similar shot just as it finished it's approach may have resulted in a better HA and connection with the viewer.

Thanks for posting this shot Stu :)

Beautifully 'popped' against the BG. Well done Stu. I love the detail and control of the whites

Great flight shot of a nice looking bird, Stu. Good details and nice up wing pose.

Man that near wing is absolutely fabulous!! Awesome details in there. Very nice BG too. I agree with the head angle, but certainly not an image wrecker.
