Just about one year ago I was in Ushuaia ready to board the Polar Pioneer for 21 days at sea. This was shot from the harbour with Canon 1DX Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II + 1.4TCIII at 280mm f/5.6 1/500 ISO 2000. Handheld in available light with the mountains of Tierra Del Fuego in the background.

I like the fanned tail, sharpness and OOF mountain BG. Composition wise I would take some off the top and create a more pano look. Nice image Geoff.

Hi Geoff, love the light cast on the head - it brings out the eye nicely. I do like the full wingspread, and how the line of the top of the wings follows the lines of the mountain in the BG. Another vote for taking a bit off the top, and if you have it, add a bit to the bottom.

Beautiful gull, nicely presented. Lovely flight shot, thank you for sharing.

Loverly shot great colours exposure and detail. I too would agree - reduce the size of the large white cloud at the top of the frame.

Thanks for the comments and crop suggestions. Here is a repost, I have lots of canvas to work with on this one so can create any aspect ratio.
