Last one for this series, I promise. I was really lucky to been able to capture this three birds on the same branch, although I waited and waited, they refuse to all look on the same direction.

Canon 40D, 500mm f/4, 1.4TC, 580 EX Flash, Better beamer, Wimberly Head, tripod
    1/800, F7.1, 700mm, ISO 400, Flash -3

Comments and recommendations, as always, are welcome.
As it was mentioned yesterday, we Floridians are spoiled :)...

I think this is better thatn the 3 looking in the same direction, good head angles for the three. I am extremely jealous ;)

    Hi Raul!

I'm with Fabs and Judy ... very jealous! I love the perfect head angle of all three, and you have all 3 eyes very sharp and in the same plane. Very nice! The exposure looks good and the diagonal perch is a plus! Possible suggestion is to prune away the partial bright lower leaf, and the tiny branch cutting off the lower right corner.

I love the three birds in focus, going in different directions and eye contact from all three, it's a gem.

What a day you had with these beauties!!!!! Every image tops the last (if that's possible)!!! Three great head angles, great composition (with diagonal perch), great use of flash (they pop, even off the cluttered BG)!! The only luck was the fact they were there. You took full advantage of this opportunity, my friend!!!!

Great light, poses, details and setting. I like that they are all in focus. I like it a lot and hope you will post one with 4 chicks tomorrow. :)

Thank for comments, you are all right, tomorrow is "four immature least bitterns" ...

JUST kidding.. I was told that they were four chicks on the nest and the day before there were all four on the branch, but I have nothing to complaint.

Fantastic image Raul! The -3 flash is set in the body, or in the flash? Did you set the shooting alues in manual mode or Av? Thanks :)

    Nikolay,
Thanks for comments. I set the flash compesation on the flash.
I normally shoot, about 99% of the time, on AV mode as in this image.

    Saludos,
    Raul

    Default Excellent Image

I am not surprised that you are a member of BPN, though I didn't realize that you were when I found this site and became a member. I know you don't know me, but I've been admiring your photography for a while on another website devoted to Birding. While studying your photographs, the great egrets, the great blue herons, and more recently the bitterns, I realizing I had a long way to go in my own photography, and this led directly to BirdPhotographersNet. Thank You! ~onlybill
