I don't know what a Black Swan is doing in Cape May, NJ. He's supposed to be in Australia. Presumably an escapee from somewhere. He has been hanging out with a group of Mute Swans, and was kind enough to give me a wing flap.

I like the setting, calm water and sharpness. A new bird for me, TFS.

Good one, Bill. Very nice head angle and wing position with just the right softness of BG. Well done.

Hi Bill, excellent low angle here, and what perfect exposure on the blacks. Well timed to capture the wingspread, and nicely separated from the BG. I would try and remove the blue cast from the right wing tip.

Lovely bird, nicely presented. The exposure looks spot on, nice wing position and background. In Lakeland, Florida there are both Mute Swans and Black Swans on a couple lakes. The swan is the symbol/mascot of the city. An escapee maybe? Thank you for sharing, Bill.

Thanks everyone. Here's a repost with the blue cast removed from the right underwing. I had figured it was the normal reflected light condition, but I admit the blue does jump out at you.
