    Default Light, and no action!

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Black-necked stilt, Florida
    Canon 1DX 600mm and 1.4 X
    ISO 800 SS 1/1000 F 5.6
Small crop ~15% for composition and leveling, processed in DPP4, +1 on shadows,-1 highlight, color saturation +0.3, NR and LR as per Arash's guide then off to CS5 and did levels, cloned out 1 small black dot in water, color balance to reduce magenta cast, NR to BG and USM to JPEG
There is something about this image that makes it a favorite of mine. The light, the tranquility really appeal to me. No action at all and nothing fancy but I hope you like it.
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,

Good title. Gorgeous image, of one of the most photogenic of birds. Searched for just one little nit, but couldn't find any.

nice Gail, the stilts can be quite handsome. I like everything, might just tone down the highlights on the chick a tad more

Hi Gail, sometimes sweet light can beat any action, and you have proved it here. Well exposed, and I do like the angled pose from the Stilt. Well placed in the frame too.

Hi Gail - the light just makes this thumbnail pop out. Beautiful light, great placement in frame. Everything works for me here.

    TFS,
    Rachel
