Great details and very nice soft light and eye contact. I find the perch a bit dominant but there is not much you could have done about it. I might clone out the spots in the upper left and right.

Good composition Lance,
I would add just a tad of canvas on the bottom so that the tail is not too tight in the frame. Also I would have liked to have seen Mr. bird with just a slight more head turn towards you...I don't mind the perch...It is what it is...:D Congrats buddy...:cool:

Very nice bird, what species is it?
If this is something that you do, cropping left and adding canvas tight and bottom would solve the issues. Agree on cleaning the BG.

Hi Fabs -this is a Kookaburra, native to Australia - sometimes called the laughing Kookaburra due to it's call.
