I think this baby Avocet is around 10 days old. I was really amazed that the Avocets are really good parents by watching their behavior for hours. I was really enjoy capture this juvenile.

Love the low angle and detail in the chick. Good eye contact, exposure and composition I like this one.
Great angle, light and pose. I wish for a bit wider DOF in order to have the legs in focus, too. At this shutter speed you could have stopped down a bit.
I like it a lot The image has such a good feel and love the extra space to the right If you have it would like just a tad on top !!!
btw Avocets are big time good parents. If you get anywhere near their nest they will come after you. Not only the parents but other birds will pitch in and help !!!
Hi Binh. Love this image !! Wonderful lighting with sweet action and excellent detail as a beautiful BG. I agree with alfred that a little more space on top would strengthen this capture. Thanks for sharing..
Lovely wing stretch! It would also make a nice vertical.
Thank you all so much for your suggestions and wonderful comments.
To Alfred: Actually, this particular juvenile trusted me so much that he came very close to me, about 10-15 feet away. One of the parents was with him then took off to chase the other avocets, ducks, killdeers, and buch of crows away. The juvenile then fell asleep for about 15 minutes or so while his parents were busy with territorial dispute about 100 yards from us. I guess I was his babysitter and I was happy that the parents also trusted me with their kid. :)
Absolutely! I hear ya loud and clear! :D
I was trying to throw the BG out of focus as much as I can while he was pacing left to right. But, I did not anticipated for him to turn toward me and stretch. He got a long neck to cause his legs OOF. I wish I was aiming for this particular pose. Thank you for your inputs! ;)
This is such a sweet image on so many levels.
