Eastern Kingbird, Crane Creek, OH. Shoulder stock mounted Nikon D200, 80-400mm VR lens, f8, 1/100sec, ISO 400, exp.comp +.67, fill flash SB800 -2.0. PP in CS3, quick masked out some branches, sharpened with Nik.
I like the bird and the background but, I have to agree, the perch coming out of the birds head is distracting and that is too bad because the head of the bird is very strong.
Hi Dan Moving right or left would move the perch form the top of the head !!! As presented would take some from top/bottom and move the bird to the right. Would like more space in the direction he is looking !!! Excellent image !!!
Hi Dan,
Lovely image and capture. Good details and a sharp eye...Agree with Lance and Mr.Al in reference to the perch sticking out of the bird's head...:eek::D:cool:
Beautiful capture Dan with great pose, lighting and detail. The exposure is excellent too. I agree with the above comments about the branch. Many thanks for sharing.
I like the pose on the bird. Details look good as well. The three catchlights in the eye keep pulling my eye. You might consider cloning a couple of them out. Maybe just leaving the one on the upper right.
