My laptop is acting up -- hope I can post this. Canon 5D3 24-70, some shadows and highlights in LR and Glamour Glow. This is the coolest bridge we found so far. Not exactly sure where we were -- friends were driving. The forests here are lovely, then suddenly you are out in the biggest cornfield you could imagine.

This is a pretty scene with the leading line, the bridge nestled in among the trees but different enough in color to stand out and the tree on the left anchoring things.

Nice! I love the glow of the leaves; they nicely frame the bridge. Nice crispness to the bridge. Great shadows across the road. The bridge looks a bit dark to me; what do you think of making it brighter/lighter?

I think this fits the monthly theme.

Neither end of the bridge was getting direct light -- a bit frustrating. But I could mask it and lighten it. No time to try that now but I'll work on it when I'm home -- a good idea -- thanks!

    Diane,

Greetings. I didn't read your description but thought glamour glow. The scene is great with the sun lighting up the leaves. Could go a bit more with the glamour glow ;-). Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Very nice and peaceful scene, well-exposed and processed. In which state is this bridge located?

Hi, Diane, where are you? I can't keep up. I like this the way it is and don't mind the bridge being darker since in the context of the tree cover it makes sense.

Hi guys -- thanks! I always regret processing on my laptop on the road and think Michael is right that the Glamour Glow could be more, uhhh, glow-y. I'll re-work it back home.

I'm touring around IN with old friends from WI. There is a covered bridge festival this week in Parke County -- west central IL. Quaint area with a LOT of bridges, and some very interesting virgin hardwood forest areas in between huge cornfields. A very different kind of scenery for me. We were hoping for some autumn color and there is some but not spectacular. But the slightly subdued palette is well-suited to the delicacy of the forests.

Now we've moved a little south to Columbus (IL) where Alan's cousin lives and will likely drive down to the Ohio River for a couple of days, then my husband will meet us. He dropped me off on his way to a Beechcraft fly-in in TN. He says there is no color down there yet so we will probably head back west sometime next week.

One of my first thoughts, after "cute", was that I wondered if a crop would be in order so that the bridge is more of the focus....then I realized no, bridge nestled among the trees is perfect as it is. To crop would make it appear bigger than it was meant to be. Nice. I don't have a problem with the shadows. It is a covered bridge after all. Like the more intense shadows in front and lighter ones behind.
