    Default Wagtail on a wire

I was hiding in a ghillie suit along a barbed wire fence waiting for raptors to fly past when this little wagtail sat down almost too close to focus. Canon EOS 7D Mark II, EF600mm f/4L IS II USM +1.4x III, 1/2000, f8.0, ISO 1000, evaluative, manual exposure, handheld. Comments welcome.

Nice looking bird, nice pose, well exposed. Unfortunately it is sitting on a perch which is not the most appealing.

Your bird looks great, well exposed and full of details. The perch is fun but I find the light portions of the wire are distracting from your subject, esp the OOF on the left.

Hi Gerhard, well exposed on this dark fellow, and as near a perfect angled pose too. I know the feeling, waiting for a certain subject, something else comes along, maybe not as exciting as the subject you were waiting for, but still fill half a card with shots of your visitor.
