    Default Pectoral Sandpiper #2

This one with feet, but alas no worm. Until the day I saw him, I had never gotten anything more than a distant shot of this species. I went to a local sod farm to chase a reported Baird's Sandpiper. Apparently the Baird's left 10 minutes before I arrived, but as I sat by the edge of the muddy field waiting for a possible return, this fellow landed and proceeded to walk right up to me, almost into my lap.

It's equally as good without the worm. The raised foot gives a nice feeling of his advance, plus good eye contact. Like the BG too.

    Hi Bill,

Everything looks fantastic in this shot Bill. Congrats on capturing a more social Pectoral ;)

It's nice when they come and say hello sometimes. Even better when you make the most of the opportunity which I think you did here. Normally I'd have said a lower POV would have been nice, but on this occasion I like the mud and the overall environmental aspect to the shot.

Great show, Bill. It really shows all the important field marks, great detail and nice head turn. Nicely framed too.
