    Good evening all,

Not been around much recently, but hopefully that'll change over the next few weeks.

Dusted the camera off for a trip to see my little red mates. The idea was to get something for the theme, but didn't seem to work out that way - never mind, just getting out again was good enough. Had to post at least one shot though to get back in the swing of things

Hi Mike - Good to see you back posting. It has a cute factor with those ears. Cute pose and placement in frame works. I would have liked a bit more dof but not a deal breaker.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Hi Mike -- Lovely little creature ! Colors look good to me and the composition is fine . I am fine with the Dof as presented , the face looks tad oversharpened. Let's see what others have to say .
    TFS !

Thanks Haseeb. I did a version where I backed off the sharpening a touch - in hindsight I should have gone with that one

Very nice image, love those eyes and ears and the DOF and comp seem fine. Agree with Haseeb reg sharpening. The colours are awesome.

    Hello Mike:)

What a sweet little fellow! Love the colours!

Regarding DOF, and I thought long and hard about this...had the ears been in, it would have been perfect IMHO. I personally do not feel the need to have the whole body of the squirrel in focus but those ear tufts would have been so nice...

Love the catchlight in those lovely alert eyes and the pose of the subject, also that little foot in the air:)

Nice POV and the autumn leaves add a lot to this frame- beautiful capture, I really appreciate you sharing this and hope to see some more!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Mike well this image has a nice cuteness factor .
I like the low POV and the framing . The lifted right leg is giving a bit of dynamic to the image .You are quite brave to shoot this little guys with 1/500 SS as they do move so quickly , you had so much more Iso available for better SS/f stop .... just push the cam , i guess it can take it.
If this was mine i would boost the mid tones for a bit more tonal depth , does look a bit thin to me in parts .
Overall i think the image is a bit on the yellow side , you have been there , just from my imagination i might go for a more deeper " red" overall "look &feel". But this can be just my brain and not the truth .
I agree with the others regarding the sharpening

Anyway a cutie you photographed ..... TFS Andreas
