    Hi folks,

Not been around much at all recently, but time to get back on the comment bus! (Starting tomorrow actually - off to bed in a minute!)

A shot from last year to go for this months theme. There was lots of mist coming up off the water in the morning light at my local pond and the gulls were doing their thing so I took the opportunity to try something a little different. This was shot before i took on board lots of the helpful tips from BPN, so the same shot tomorrow would probably have different settings

    Love this one Mike!
I wouldn't do anything different re: EXIF because you got a wonderful image.
Love the color palette and the way the light shines through the wings.
My only suggestion would be to take a bit off the top.

I like it but it seems very noisy for iso500 unless it is a huge crop....

Thanks Dan. It's around 80% of the original frame but maybe the lack of light on the underside and the older equipment added to the fact I didn't expose to the right has produced the visible noise

Great looking flight pose Mike. I agree about the underside. The colours are wonderful though, and beautiful detail on the bird.

Great play with light in this image. The BG is quite special as well.

Hi Mike, I like the rim light around the Gull, eye contact, and certainly a different image from all the other Gulls shots for this months theme. As mentioned, I do see a bit of noise in the BG, and I would try a version by reducing it.

This one works well for me Mike. The background very attractive. I agree on reducing the background noise.
