Magnificent image of beautiful bird to start with. Very nice pose with raised foot Beautiful lights, great details. Superb colour scheme.
Nice composition, however some more space behind bird would have nicer.
    Welcome to BPN.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Welcome! Beautiful image, Tomasz. I agree with the above comments, and the warm light compliments the colors in the Dunlin. Well done.

    Welcome to BPN !
    A very nice first post.
I really like the color palette. The light is beautiful.
Yes to a bit more room behind the bird.

Hi Tomasz...welcome to BPN!! Great subject (I love Dunlins, but do not see them nearly often enough). The light is of a very nice quality and warmth. I like the walking pose, and lots of details to look at. I would have preferred a bit more room for the composition, but this is a great start.

Including technical details such as shutter speed, aperture, and ISO would be helpful for critique and learning purposes. Again, welcome to BPN, and looking forward to more from you!

    Thanks for comments.
This is a full frame so can't fix the original composition. Would be possible to move the bird a bit to the left with some additional work in Photoshop.

    Welcome Tomasz!

I too am new to BPN, as of last month. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. There is a lot that can be learned from these fine people, their photographs, and their generous help!

What struck me first about your photo was the bird seems to be at the edge of a little sand precipice. Love how he is looking out over it!

The background is great, and there seems to be just the right amount of foreground. I agree with the previous observation that a bit more room behind the tail would have been nice. Some people here have tricks to extend/clone the canvas that could accomplish that for you ... I have seen it done, just not sure myself how ;)

Thanks for sharing this great shorebird image!

Ross, there is very nice video clip by Arthur Morris Sir about how to extend canvas on BPN. I have it but unable to find out at the moment.
Here is the repost with extended canvas.

Wow Saatish, that is a great job of extending the canvas on Tomasz's photo! The shadow even seems uninterrupted. Well done! I certainly will seek out that video. Thank you for mentioning it Saatish :)

Thanks. I think i know how to do that, i just haven't thought about doing that in this picture. I will keep that in mind to have a little more space behind the bird when i shoot and in postprocessing.

Hi Tomasz, a big welcome to BPN, and hope you enjoy your participation. Good angled pose, love the light, which in turn has brought out lovely warm colours. Thats a killer BG too. Satish has done a great job on extending the canvas.
