    Intermediate plumage, from Plum Island in August. Cleaned a few distracting shells from the beach.

    D7200, 500f4 + 1.4 TC, ISO 800, 1/2500s @ f/7.1 manual.

    Great work Bill! Love the simple clean smooth background, just the right amount of OOF foreground, great composition, lighting, catch light, exposure, lifted foot with no motion blur. Wish I had taken that one ;)

    Nice shot, good low angle with nice light.. would like the head tilt just a touch more towards viewer for my taste.. cheers, Merv

    A bit more head turn would have been nice for me, but a very nice dynamic pose...

    Lovely frame Bill. All works well here. Love the raised foot. I like the stride and the HA looking forward suits the image.

    Oh man I love that plumage. Very nice walking stride too, you got it at just the perfect leg position. My kind of low angle too! Yes, I agree slightly better head angle would have given the image a few more points. Still a superb shorebird image, nicely done.
