From a local pond two months ago. He put on quite a show, with multiple poses over the course of an hour.

I think you chose the best pose here Bill, the concentration on the face and the raised leg looks real good. Lovely detail on the bird and I really like the perch. The colours throughout are lovely. You couldn't have asked for a better BG colour, it blends perfectly.

Pretty cool stalking pose. I love the perch, BG, raised foot. Well balanced comp. I do feel the contrast may be pushed a little too much (or perhaps just the darks), but nothing that can't be tweaked easily.

intensity capture with this pose for sure! I also like the one claw grip and the other claw open and above the broken small branch. Excellent all round!

Great shot Bill! I really like the angle of the perch, and the Heron posing in that angel. The perch and background are great!

I agree with Daniel. On my calibrated monitor, contrast seems a little high.

Thanks for posting this definition of "intense concentration", Bill!

Hi Bill, you couldnt have captured a better hunting/fishing pose from a Green Heron as with this pose. Well placed in the frame, sharp, and love the moss on the feet. Killer BG too.

Absolute KO Bill I love the pose with that raised foot. The colours and the details are excellent, I don't think you could wish for better. I think this is the shot you dream of capturing when you see a bird such as this in these surroundings.

Definition of a bird stalking prey image, Bill. Though he's in the open, he blends quite well with the branch and BG. Well done.
