Hi Ari, great eye contact, and love the soft light. Good DOF on the Owl, sharp, and the colours of the BG compliment the Owl nicely.

Hi Arash, what struck me first about this photo was the lovely golden background, and those eyes. I quite like your composition, feet and eyes at roughly thirds, and the perched point of the feet being centred horizontally in the frame.

The only critique I can offer, and it is subjective, is I find the branches in lower right hand corner could be distracting to some people. A little bit of cleanup in that area may possibly make this great photo greater.

    Thanks for sharing - Ross.

Beautiful look, light, details, background. Perch mildly distracting but not a deal-breaker.

Thanks everyone, BTW I actually liked that he perched on those branches as I had rarely seen a BO perch on something other the ground

    A beautiful image.
Great light, BG, and pose. Comp is perfect as well.
I really like the perch but would clone out the one OOF branch in LLC (near the tail). Not a deal breaker.

The perch is the best part of the image for me. Interesting abstract of its own and the Owl looks great.

I love the way we can see how a Burrowing Owl clutches a thin perch. Super nice warm and golden tones throughout. No-brainer vertical comp works well. I guess with those techs you were ready for flight/take-off frames, and if so I am looking forward to those too!

Man, that is some real nice light you shot him in. Perfect HA to get the double catch lights in and the BG and the natural perch work well for me. Sweet Owl frame Arash.
