    Default CYPRESS SWAMP - THEME

Having spent all but three years of my life well above the Mason-Dixon Line, I wanted to experience Spanish moss and black water cypress swamps. This was accomplished on our journey up the Natchez Trace. I was particularly intrigued by the black water of the swamp. PP included Orton effect and a Shadowhouse texture.

has that eery look so true to the swamps. Good choice of treatments. If it were mine, I might consider cloning in some greenery in that blank area of upper right. Good comp to show water, roots and tall trees all in one.

Great composition and depth of field. Hazel's suggestion of cloning the greenery was good...it improved an already-interesting image.

Both horizontally and vertically, the composition is excellent, and -- as Wendy also said -- the depth of field is great, too. The earthy colors came along with the subject, of course, but the darkness in the water really sets them off.

As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I figured you'd taken this on the Natchez Trace.

Gary, the repost looks great. I especially like the lacy look to the cypress leaves and the depth of the image.
