    I took several images as this dunlin struggled to maintain balance as the tide advanced.

    Hi Jon, I like what you captured here. Lovely colours throughout and the water flowing over the rock is nice. You can see the determination on the bird, wanting to stay put on the rock. Very nice frame.

    Lots of interest in the frame, from the bird's pose to the washed over rock and the splashes. I'd remove the highlights and see if you can lighten the bird's eye a bit. To my taste, trimming from the top and putting the bird higher in the frame reduces the effect of the downward shooting angle.

    I love the smooth watery surface of the rock, and the toe just barely grabbing onto it is pretty neat. The rough waters in the BG are pleasantly oof. If you lightened the iris I'd go back and darken it a tad as it seems a bit too bright for me (I'm wondering if that is what Grace meant?)

    On rfelction i think I did brighten the iris a little too much, thanks to everyone for your comments.
