Here's another juvie Forster's Tern, this one taken in mid-August of last year, at Brigantine. Note that this one still has some of the ginger-colored juvie plumage, which will disappear within the month.

D7000, 500f4, ISO 640, 1/4000s @ f/7.1 manual, gitzo and mongoose. Full-frame except for a bit of rotation; added sliver of canvas to the right.

A truly beautiful image, Bill. Love the multi tone background and hovering pose.

The near wing is rather close to the edge for my personal taste, but I like the pose (especially the dangling feet) and the very nice background. Nice and sharp too.

Hi Bill a very fine image of this tern , well controlled whites and IQ is great . Really good looking overall colors and tones . Very cool

Agree with Daniel regarding the ULR a bit tight to the wing .

Thanks Karl, Daniel and Andreas. Yes, the wing tip is a little tight. The bird was very close to me, and I was lucky not to clip a wing. After a little rotation that's how it came out. But I should have added a bit of canvas above, which would be easy to do.
