I will be away for three weeks: two weddings in different parts of New England; a week on Deer Isle, Maine; Mike Moats Macro Conference in Providence, RI. This is a LOT of travelling and being away for me--a homebody. Does anyone else use airbnb? Fantastic.

I've used airbnb for several years and I love it - I've never had anything but very positive experiences. I used them to rent an apartment in Venice which turned out to be as good as it gets. I've only tried apartments, not a room in someone's home but I'd like to try that also. I just found an apartment with a kitchen in Venice (on one of the other islands - about a 30 min. boat ride to San Marco) - for $41 a night. And they furnish a bicycle so that you can explore the island. I visit airbnb site all the time just to explore. Their listiings in the states have looked good too. There was one in Santa Fe, New Mexico that was an artist's apartment that looked specially delightful.
