    A couple of weeks ago I captured this image at a local sod farm. Though these plovers are shorebirds, they can be found on lawns, golf courses, and parking lots. C&C welcome.

    D4s, Nikon 500mm + 1.7 tc, 1/1000s, f 8.0, FF -3.0 EV, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    Nice POV and nice stepping pose.
    Even though you were on the wrong side of the light, the bird shows very well, especially the red eye ring.

    In more ideal light this would have held up really nicely imho.
    Irrespective of that you managed a nice keeper image showing good details

    Really nice post and sharp details. Light wasn't very flattering here. Given your shooting angle, I'd probably have gone with a shallower DOF here to make the BG a bit smoother.
