Default 2 day old Snowy Plover.

Snowy Plover chick, 2 days old. Sanibel Island
    40D, F/8, 300mm + 2x, ISO 400, 95% of frame

I was with Hugh on part of his Snowy Plover adventure this year. I layed on the ground and waited for the chicks to run up the beach towards me. It was great to get one with a background that was very clean, I didn't clone anything out. By the way Hugh has written a great article on his adventures with these birds at http://www.evergladesphotosociety.or...owyplover.html .

Now that's a cuty! Nice BG indeed. The only small nit IMO is that the shadow of the bird is not entirely in the frame, which creates some compositional imbalance.

    Default Compositionally Imbalanced?

Because the little tykes shadow isn't completely in frame?

Thanks goodness one of my clients has never stated that to me :)

    I think it's a wonderful shot!

Thanks for the plug!!! Great detail, which is not easy as focusing on fuzzy chicks is problematical. Well composed.

Great angle, details and clean BG. I might raise the color temperature a tad.
