Composition, exposure, and processing all seem top notch. If anything, maybe a little can be removed from the top of the frame?
Your previous post had more variation in texture and colour of the background, than this one. This background seems a little monochromatic and flat by comparison. The available light must have been the limiting factor there?
That is indeed sweet light hitting the plover. Cute little fella, and I like the "foot shaking" pose you got it in. The lines in the sand and BG create the illusion of the image needing a bit of CCW rotation.
Ross, this was on a slightly different part of the beach, with less variation; but I rather liked the plain bg to set off the bird. Yes, the available light was a limiting factor here.
Daniel, I believe this is level (see the horizon reflected in the bird's eye); but I agree that it has the illusion of needing some rotation.
