    Default Brilliant Yellow

Suddenly masses of these yellow flowers are appearing along the roadsides and in forgotten lots. Each individual flower is on a tall stem and very weedy looking. But all massed together the yellows are stunning. They glow in the sun, dance wildly in the wind and attract lots of insects.

I used 2 layers of topaz impressions and lots of hand painting and adjusting of the opacity.

This is nicely composed with beautiful colors. I especially like the progression from the more muted oranges and greens to the bright yellow followed by the darker tones. You did a beautiful job with the Impression and hand painting.

Hi, Nancy, I wouldn't change a thing - it's gorgeous Perfect amount of impressions.

Wonderful painting! But I wish the bottom leaf weren't cut off, as it pulls my eye to the bottom of the frame. I think muting it and adding more paint strokes to it would work well. It would work well with more canvas added top and bottom. Any issues with adding canvas should be easy to conceal in the painting step.

Lovely! Yellow is such a happy color. Great processing! I haven't tried hand painting. I don't mind the cut-off bottom petal, but it does draw my attention due to the bright yellow color. I think that if the end of that bottom petal were treated like the other petals, it would blend in perfectly.

Thank you everyone! I see what is being said about that bottom petal. I think I'll paint it so it is not so bright.
