    Default Drake Gadwall

This was taken back in March during our annual "Ducks Unlimited" workshop in Southern California.

I don't see Gadwall posted to often so I thought this might be a nice change. I love the neck and breast feathers of the drakes of this species.

Looking forward to this years waterfowl and workshop season.

Thanks as always for looking and for your input. I appreciate it.

Killer sharp, perfect light, IQ and DOF. I love that the bird is perfectly evenly lit, that there are no shadows visible and details are exquisite through out. Man, this is an awesome image Dave

Killer flight pose, David. Like seeing that one drop of water. Would like a tad more room on top.

Hi Dave, well, you sure nailed this flight pose - what a great down stroke of the wings. I really like the overall exposure and sharpness, and the detail is tops. Comp wise, I would like to see a bit more room on the right, with a touch of space on top.

Those feather details on the neck are downright mesmerizing! Super nice full downward wing stroke showing off the wing colours. I agree having a bit more room above would work well, but certainly nice as presented.

Sweet frame Dave! Perfect downstroke of the wings and great sharpness and eye contact! Sounds like this winter is going to be big for ducks in So. Cal., as they're already arriving in good numbers!

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

Yes Doug, lots of ducks already. They are predicting a bumper year.

    Dave,
A spectacular flight shot IMO. I do agree about a bit more room above.
Works well though and it's so sharp and "frozen" that it hurts to look.
    Really great work mate!
    TFS!
