    This was shot handheld rested on a wire fence in available light. Canon 7D2, Canon 600 f/4 IS II, f/11, 1/1250, ISO 400.

    Nice shot for the theme. The eye and the beak are nice and sharp.

    Hi Geoff,
    Nice, intimate view of the cygnet.
    I like the bit of vegetation in the mouth.
    At first, I thought the head/cheek area was soft but the eye looks good so I think that what I am seeing is the nice fluffiness of the cygnet.
    There is some cloning artifact in the RLC. I would eliminate the bright white line at the bottom of the frame.
    I would also clone out the specular highlight above the head.
    I would also do some more NR on the water. Despite all my observations I think this is a nice image and I think a bit more TLC in PP would really enhance this image.
