    Default Scaled Quail

Here's another bird from Texas, and another bird that also lives in my backyard. The only clean looks I usually get at home are when they're perched on my yard wall. This one climbed up on a log and posed for me.

What a poser! Beautiful bird and colors, almost metallic, she/he looks like is wearing a armored coat :)
The smooth light green BG is the perfect set up for the bird. Big congrats!

Outstanding image indeed Doug. Personally I would only increase contrast slightly. I like Fabs' remark about its armor!

A fantastic image with a lot of high quality interesting elements: BG, pose, sharpness, eye contact, head turn, perch, catchlight and... what a cute subject. Excellent work Doug

What a great pose! A little contrast boost might be all that is needed, but otherwise it's a great image.

Great soft light, setting, pose and BG. As mentioned a little boost in contrast and maybe some selective sharpening of the head would make it even better.

I keep looking at this and I kind find the words to describe it!! I love the image, the pose, the background, your subject! The scales look unbelievable, I just wish there was more light!
