Default Bald Eagle after a bath

This Bald Eagle must have been taking a bath. It was up in a tree drying it's wings. It was interesting to see how the white on his tail extends much farther up than you would see in a typical flight shot or pose. Shot from a rocking boat. ISO 640, 1/2500s F5.6 840mm 1D X. I know the crop is very squarish (and pretty heavy)... Does it work?

    Comments and critiques welcome!

The crop works for me, and a very interesting view and subject. I'm seeing very low contrast, though. It should be possible to hold the darkest tones closer to black and lift the near-dark tones. There's also a halo along the left edge of the wing that can be dealt with.
