This one was captured whilst on my recent trip to the Outer Hebrides. Corn Buntings are fairly rare, especially on mainland Scotland, so I was happy to get this. The RSPB have placed them on Red status.

I should have changed my camera settings, but I was setup for birds in flight, and didn't have time, before he flew off

    Thanks for looking

Hi Will, love the roundness of this fellow, and looks a fairly small species. I dont mind the semi weathered fence post/perch, but maybe wished it was more rounded, and not so 'clean cut'. Interesting colour to the BG.

Yes, I know the feeling about the setting. You can program your 1D Mark IV to have one button at the back for BIF and one for static.
Set you your camera to f 5.6 and 1/2500 s for example.
Then you go to C.Fn I under 13.
You click enable and then click register with AE lock button (AF on)
I use the middle button (*) for back focusing on everything else.
As all the C.FN Custom Settings are under my menu setting,
and in C.Fn I is always set to 13, assigning new values goes very fast.
